Matt Lux burst onto the dirt
racing stock car scene in
Northwestern Pennsylvania in
1997 at the age of 22. Matt
collected 31 victories, a Rookie
of the Year title, 2 track
championships, and 2 Cavalcade
Points Championships during his
brief four year stint. Matt
also managed to etch his name on
nearly every prestigious annual
stock car event in
Pennsylvania. Matt won the
Applefest 100 at Tri-City
Speedway, The Pittsburgher at
PPMS, Fall Fest at Challenger
Raceway, and The Little Guy
Nationals at Mercer Raceway
Park.
After the 2000 season, Matt sold
his stock car and upgraded to a
used Rocket Chassis Super Dirt
Late Model. Competing against
arguably the fiercest local
competition in the country, Matt
has proven that he is a star on
the rise. Matt has garnered 10
career victories and a track
championship while competing on
an “outlaw” schedule that
includes racing at 38 different
racetracks in 8 states over the
past seven seasons. 2006
proved to be a breakout year for
Matt as he captured top five
finishes while competing against
the World of Outlaws, the
Mid-Atlantic Championship Series
(MACS), the ALMS, and the ULMS
sanctioning bodies. In 2007,
Matt backed up the strong "06
season by capturing the MACS
Rookie of the Year while
finishing 5th in the overall
points standings. The '07
season was the team's first
attempt at competing with a
traveling series.
In 2004, while competing on the
Late Model circuit, a local
modified car owner took notice
of Matt’s talents and offered
him a ride aboard his Pierce
Chassis E-Modified. Showcasing
his super-smooth driving style,
Matt went on to capture 21
victories in two seasons worth
of racing, translating to a win
for every four starts! His
impressive victories include:
The All Star 50 at Tri-City
Speedway, The Little Guy
Nationals at Mercer Raceway
Park, The Fall Classic at Sharon
Speedway, and an AMRA victory at
K-C Raceway in Chillicothe,
Ohio.
